The Contributors

Alan Morrell

Alan was called home to our Lord on 19th December 2000.  He attended the Bridge Chapel Centre, an independent Baptist church, and during his time with GBS, contributed four series of Discovery, Aspects of Loneliness, Failed but not Finished, and Joseph.

Jim Waterworth

Jim is from Birkenhead and is the pastor of Upton Independent Baptist Church, Chester. He has written several series for Discovery, including The Ten Commandments, Jude and Jonah.

Ken Baker

Ken is from Pensby on the Wirral. He is an elder at Oaklea Chapel in Irby and has contributed several Discovery series, including, AD2000 the Real Celebration, based on the Book of Acts, and more recently a series based on David from the Old Testament.

Barry Cunningham

Barry is the Pastor of Union Hall Church, Hulme in Manchester.  He has written a number of series for GBS, including Living with Purpose, which is based on the Book of Ecclesiastes.

Arthur Howe

Arthur is from Bebington on the Wirral and attends Grange United Reformed Church.  His series include Lessons from Joshua and Genesis.

Will Rankin

Will is a past contributor who wrote over twenty series over fifteen years. He hung up his pen in 1996.

Paul Hart

Paul is a barrister specialising in family law, who attends Bryn Baptist Church, near Wigan. His contributions include The Life of all Lives about the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sydney Elliott

Sydney is the pastor of Grace Church, Halewood, a church meeting in the local leisure centre in Halewood, near Liverpool.  Born in Scotland, he grew up in Glasgow.

He lives in Halewood with his Irish wife Alison and his three sons.  He has written the series, Good News For a Bad World and soon to be broadcast series for Easter, Cross Words

Derek Lindley

Derek began his teaching career with VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) in the Caribbean, teaching for one year at Fletcher College in Corozal, Belize, in Central America, and a second year at Anna Regina Secondary School on the Essequibo Coast in Guyana, South America.  He became a Christian whilst in Georgetown in 1966 and has since taught Religious Education for 37 years.

He was Head of RE at Bishop Greer C. of E. High School in Gorton, Manchester, and then Head of Middle School at Trinity C. of E. High School in Manchester.  He retired in 2003.

He and his wife Hazel are members of Bethany Community Church in Gatley, Cheshire.  He is a Bible teacher and as well as speaking in the UK, has ministered in Switzerland, Serbia, Ghana and Singapore.
